Many serial killers are geniuses; they are not good. It’s okay to acknowledge his very particular brilliance.
Yes, he's a bad person. It's not that we think he's not smart, it's that he gets credit for things when he doesn't deserve the credit. There are people who believe that he was part of the technical team that designed Tesla's cars or that he invented them. It's annoying AF. Also, he seems to have lost his freaking mind the last couple of years.

Completely agree. Just saying there’s also a genius in getting Tesla to market in the first place.

I’m not defending the guy, I’m just saying there are a lot of ways to be “genius “. For example, I think trump has a super particular form of genius but I also think he should be in jail. I’m comfortable with those things existing together but I understand, or have come to accept, that it is impossible for many people to observe strong characteristics in people they find otherwise repugnant.

For me, it’s like acknowledging OJ was a good athlete even if I thought he was guilty and deserved a life sentence. Those two things can exist together. I actually feel similarly about Ted Kennedy.

    Must spread comments …
Elon wasn’t the tech guy behind Tesla or Boring or Space-X, but he was definitely the driving force for these to come into existence. The attempts to reduce him to a “credit stealer” or “lucky man with $” seem to be driven more by dislike than by objectivity.

PS - I wouldn’t put Ted Kennedy & OJ in the same bin. One accidentally caused a death and covered it up, the other deliberately sliced the throat of two people - “allegedly.”

    Twitter to charge for posting?

    https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/15/el...nable-posting/

"Elon Musk is planning to charge new X users a small fee to enable posting on the social network and to curb the bot problem."

Doesn't seem like a great move to me, but what do I know?

I don't know if it'll curb the "bot problem" but it'll curb the "too many users" problem. I hope he goes through with it.

    Satire

    This made me laugh:

"Billionaire Elon Musk, found dead in his home last night, says it is not the role of social media networks to determine what is true or not.

The Tesla and X owner, who is believed to have died from a heroin overdose while watching animal porn, said he would fight any attempts to stop the spread of misinformation on his platform."

If I still had an X account, I would tweet this. Great find!
