I personally want nothing but the best for Joey, and he could have a big role for Michigan next year assuming Jett Howard goes pro, so fingers crossed for him.

    From Coach Howard:

“Michigan is a great school academically,” Howard said. “Joey, being at Duke -- academically he qualifies. There are also a few other hurdles that we have to dive deep into. We’re going to try hard. We’re going to give it our best shot.

“We would love to have him back. And not just because of the shooting, but just overall the person. He just fits in the locker room. The guys enjoy playing with him.”
    I'd be happy for Joey.

Joey’s burned red shirt may rise from the ashes like a phoenix. It’s a shame about all our wasted angst tho.

We do not discuss Joey's redshirt.

I assume he means playing professionally overseas? I don't see Joey as NBA-level talent.

This is a bit of a purposeful mislead by Joey. He had explicitly stated he was going to petition the NCAA to give him back the redshirt year that he burnt for a handful of minutes, but it was becoming clear that said petition was going nowhere. So rather than say his career is over because of a failed attempt at a sixth year, he's saying he's choosing to begin his professional career. Don't say I blame him.

It wouldn't shock me if Joey at least gets to play in the Summer League... players who shot 40% from 3 in worse competition have been given that shot on their shooting alone. I don't think there's any path to him making the NBA unless he shows something crazy, but then again if Duncan Robinson can go from D3 to Michigan to undrafted to making 15+ mill a year in the NBA, I see no reason why Joey shouldn't give it a shot. (Note I'm NOT saying Joey and Duncan have any similarities beyond being primarily 3 point shooters... Duncan was far and away a better collegiate performer. Just some interesting context.)

Now that Baker has declared for the draft I believe I will too.

I’m sure Joey meant the military draft. They don’t require a jumpshot for admission and you only have to get just so close with a hand grenade.

I must have missed Jaemyn Brakefield's decision to leave the transfer portal and recommit to Ole Miss on March 30. I saw some recent tweets that seemed to indicate he was ready to get back to work in the new Chris Beard era.

He has two more years of eligibility at Ole Miss, as does Henry Coleman III at Texas A&M. Still the only two reasons to follow the SEC.

No need for the guys who are hating on Joey.
