They are both point guards, but Tre is a starter for the Spurs and Tyus is a backup for the Grizzlies. So there's no direct comparison. The rankings project Tre as the lowest-ranked starting point guard in the league, and Tyus as the 16th best reserve at any position.

Tre has the benefit of a starting role, but on a team designed to tank for the 2023 draft. Tyus seems fine with being Ja Morant's understudy on a team that could contend for the NBA Finals -- along with about 4-6 other Western Conference teams.

Jimmy Butler is the 3rd ranked power forward ahead of Anthony Davis at #4 and Zion at #6. Ranking players based on their listed positions definitely creates some unusual player groupings.

I’ll just point out that my own top pick in the dbr mock draft, Jalen Duren, showed out tonight with a double-double and 3 blocks in his debut.

Watched Tyus Stones and Cam Reddish tonight and both were excellent. RJ was just downright awful. Maybe checking Ja was just too much for him?

Neither Jabari Parker nor Jahlil Okafor are on an NBA roster to start the season. I don’t think we would have imagined that a short time ago.
