Starting 5 in 2023

Does Flip start at 5 this season or does Scheyer go with Young, Reeves, or Stewart? While using Flip there would seem to enable Duke to exploit matchups with some teams… it seems that it would likely wear him out across the season and foul him out of many games.

2024. Addressed elsewhere. I doubt that either Ryan or Christian start, but both will play, I think, with Reeves getting more minutes as the season goes along.

I would like to see Reeves start and Young come off the bench. He was a spark coming off it last year.

I've been on record as an advocate of Flip at the 4 optimally. Personally I think we're going to rue not adding a defensive-minded 5 from the portal. I don't believe Reeves is ready to contribute in the type of role some are envisioning.

But as it stands, my guess is Flip starts at the 5 and we run a 3-guard lineup to start with Mitchell at the 4.
