Duke Softball 2023

Yeah would also be interested in seeing a good site for softball recruit analysis. Got a lot of trust in the team recruiting new players - those two high average frosh seem like potential replacements for Davis and bench players - but would be curious to see the list for myself. I picked up this info on the ‘23 grads on goduke.com. Burgess appears to be a Jennings-like slapper/bunter with good speed. Li apparently hits for an exceptional average and can play any infield position. I don’t subscribe to any of the softball sites or magazines so… with regard to the ‘24s, I had to dig out of the internet…both Ava Bradshaw and Macey Cintron are superior pitchers. Players this good, one has to assume, are subject to poaching, but their verbal commitments seem enthusiastic.
Anyone have Extra Innings or Softball America info on these outstanding recruits?

Apparently, following the lead of FSU, Coach Young’s husband is the Coach of the super select, under-14 girls’ softball team, the Lady Dukes. Amazingly, several of these excellent players have already verbally committed to Duke: catcher Anna Sawyer; shortstop Nadia Sykes, catcher/corner infielder Jessie Denardo and pitcher/infielder Summer Bullard. A fifth is leaning toward Duke. Names to watch. All we old guys, in my case, T ‘63, fervently hope to see them in the WCWS.

With the 2023 season now ended, we should probably start a new thread for Duke Softball 2024. There is the fall schedule, but that's already next season. Unless there are other thoughts, I'll start the new thread.

Oklahoma won Game 1 of the WCWS today 5-0 over FSU on a 2-hitter by Jordy Bahl.
OK goes 60-1 for the season (52 straight wins) and can win their third straight NCAA title tomorrow.

Just realized they're playing Game 2 today also. OK leads FSU 2-1 in B5. Game 3, if necessary, is tomorrow.

He's a coach (and not a Duke coach), so it's perfectly legal. And being that Coach Young posted it, she's obviously on board, so sharing the link would be just fine.

Incredibly Bahl is now transferring for her final two years back home to Nebraska. We’ll see if that takes Oklahoma down a peg
