In Game #2 today, Duke leads Liberty 5-4 in the middle of the 5th.
Nice win over a team we should beat every time. Next up, liberty in a few hours.
Gotta win that one since tomorrow we faced ranked Stanford to close out the weekend.
In Game #2 today, Duke leads Liberty 5-4 in the middle of the 5th.
Duke wins over Liberty, 8-5 in 8 innings. Duke is now 2-2. Playing small ball so far - no HR's in four games. Last game vs. Stanford tomorrow.

Oklahoma Run-Ruled Stanford 11-1 yesterday, which might mean nothing, but might also suggest we have a decent shot tonight given our own 4-0 loss.

Duke leads Stanford 3-2 after 1 inning.
3 errors in three innings is dreadful to start this game. Duke needs to tighten up the defense
4-2 Duke after 5.
Still 4-2 Duke in B6, Duke batting.
In the T6, Stanford had bases loaded with no outs.
Fr. Cassidy Curd came in in relief and struck out 2 and popped up the third to retire the side.
Need 3 more outs.
Final 4-2 Duke. Cassidy Curd with the big save.
Duke sweeps Stanford today. Women's Tennis also beat Stanford earlier today.
3-2 and not run ruled by Oklahoma is a very successful weekend. Great job by the team here.
I'm certainly not an expert but as for the pitching, Jala Wright has pitched well (2-1, 3.31 ERA), Claire Davidson was roughed up a bit in 2 games (0-1, 8.22), and Fr. Cassidy Curd has been very good in her three appearances (1-0, 1.29 ERA). Combined ERA is 3.82 in five games which is good considering the competition.
On batting, seven Blue Devils are hitting .300+, led by Fr. D'Auna Jennings (.500), Deja Davis (.471), Kelly Torres (.364) and Sarah Goddard (.364). Its been all small ball so far, with no homeruns and only 9 extra base hits out of 45 hits total. Overall .315 BA is good against the top level pitching in the tournament.

HOW TO FOLLOW
A combination of ESPN affiliates will broadcast each of Duke's five games. Live stats will also be available throughout the weekend via StatBroadcast.
Looking forward to being able to watch the team in action this weekend. Following live stats is fine, but it's near impossible to tell anything of value about our pitching from numbers on paper, other than that balls and strikes were called.
Today sets up a good Duke women's sports day, with ranked games for both Softball and Basketball.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Wow softball is getting some great OOC experience before the conference slate! Should hopefully pay dividends in NCAA seeding…
Duke trails immediately 1-0 after Bama gets a “double” (our right fielder should’ve caught it) and then a single to start the bottom of the first.
