That Georgia offer sure stands out.

Seems like a real peach!
At one point, though he mentions in one of the articles interviewing him that a previous OC offered him and he didn't have a committable offer from the current staff.
Not that it matters to me - I trust the staff evaluation and am excited that we're looking to recruit QBs as passers first. It's always great to have a dual-threat QB, but our most successful teams in the Cutcliffe era had pass-first offenses.
Boone, Connette and Sirk were the primary QBs of Cut's most successful teams and all three were dual-threat QBs. Daniel Jones was a very effective runner. The model began to fall apart after Jones left. Harris was a better runner than passer, Brice a mediocre passer and poor runner and Duke's offense was just a train wreck during Holmberg's year as a starter, so it's hard to adequately evaluate him, IMO. But the days of a Sean Renfree throwing darts while being totally ineffective as a runner are probably over. Most top college quarterbacks need to be able to throw and run these days and I'm pretty sure Elko isn't bringing in any quaterbacks who can't run.
I've got to say, I'm impressed by what I'm reading in regard to Grayson Loftis. Let's hope he ends up "signing on the dotted line" because it sure sounds like he has the physical talent as well as the desired personality traits you'd like to see in an effective QB.
Jim, what I gather then is, Ben Bennett (God love him) also is not walking through that door.
