Please list your top 5 all-time favorite TV drama series (I’m trying to catchup now I’m retired).
Here’s mine:
- The Sopranos
- The Wire
- Deadwood
- West Wing
- Better Call Saul
Top 5 TV
Breaking Bad
Sopranos
Game of Thrones
The Wire
Band of Brothers
The Americans and Band of Brothers are my top 2. Everything else is playing for 3rd.
Band of Brothers
Breaking Bad
Hill St. Blues
Better Call Saul
Sopranos
The Wire, Sopranos and Game of Thrones (even with the ending not stuck).
After that, I’d have to think through Oz, Succession, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Deadwood and a few others.
You know what is sad... how many of the contenders here did not end well.
Game of Thrones
Lost
The West Wing
Ozark
The X-Files
Sigh...

Breaking Bad (IMO best ending of any series ever)
Game of Thrones (minus last 2 seasons)
The Wire (some seasons better than others)
Sopranos (anyone watch recently? Does it hold up?)
Shameless (minus after Fiona leaves)

Good topic. Mine ended too soon.
Sneaky Pete
Bosch
Goliath
Ted Lasso
The Night Manager
I'm an aberration in that I've never watched GOT. and it's likely I never will, solely for the reputation that the last season or two have for being weak. I loved Lost, but will never rewatch it for the same reason, the closing was so lame.
If a series carries a footnote of "It was good until...", then it doesn't make my top of anything list.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
BBC Edition:
Sherlock
Luther
Broadchurch
The Fall
Line of Duty
