Brutal day today at Bay Hill, I'd guess the average score is about +2. Kevin goes +3 and will miss the cut. Re Alex, I just hope he has a good day and gets some confidence going into the Players.

By missing the cut, Kevin is projected to drop out of the top-125 in the FedEx standings, from 121 to 128. Alex is only projected to drop from 43 to 46. Adam, who did not play, from 151 to 158.
So Kevin and especially Adam are in danger of losing their cards. Alex is almost assured of keeping his, he's already got 375 points and last year #125 had 323 after the Wyndham Championship. Kevin currently has 166 points, Adam 77.
Here's the point distribution for finishes, you can see that points drop off pretty sharply and finishing consistently below 30 isn't going to get it done. Kevin's best finishes in 12 events are a T20, T24, and T35. Adam's in 14 events are T30, T42, and T44.

Lots of golf left for Kevin and Adam, but the fields are only getting stronger. It shows the importance of Alex doing so well before the holiday break. I'm glad he shot a fairly strong +1 yesterday (it was a tough day for almost everyone) after a disastrous Thursday (it was his worst round on the Tour (previous worst a 77) and hopefully was just a blip) and that it bodes well for the rest of the season.
All three can help themselves immensely with a strong showing this week at The Players (most points they'll have a shot at, since none are currently qualified for any majors this year).

Also, after rising quickly to #92 in the OWGR, Alex has fallen to #113. He really needs to turn this season around, this weekend would be a good start. Plus he's still young, it's not like his career is on the ropes. It's just that the season started so promisingly.

In other news, Chandler Eaton ('20) will attempt to qualify for the PGA Tour Canada (East) beginning tomorrow the 7th in Dothan, Alabama.

At The Player's Championship, Kevin Streelman and Adam Long are Even Par through nine holes in Round 1.

Rory (not an alum ) +4 through 12 (leaders at -6). Ouch.

Round 1 in the books for Kevin Streelman. He is -1 (71) and T15. He carded four birdies and three bogeys. Streelman birdied all four Par 5 holes today.

Alex dancing on the cut line, which we won't know until tomorrow since thunderstorms appear to be a sure thing this afternoon. He's driving well but his irons are really letting him down. He's missing greens, sometimes badly, from the fairway.
Edit: Case in point. He just missed the green by about 20 yards from 170 out in the fairway, and proceeded to miss the 4-foot par putt. He has slipped off the line.

Kevin Streelman navigates the back nine Even Par to remain -1 for the tournament. He had two birdies (both Par 5 holes) and two bogeys.
On to the front nine…
