Great rounds today from Alex and Kevin, Colonial was playing tough. Only 6 golfers (of 72) had better rounds, and -4 was the best of the day.
Kevin could win with a phenomenal round, he's T6.

Sunday tee times (EDT):
Streelman 1:20 pm
Smalley 11:00 am
Bob Green
Streelman plays the front nine in -1 to move to -6 overall. He is T6 headed to the final nine.
Bob Green
Streelman with his first Top 10 finish this season. He is T9. Bogeys on 16 and 17 prevented a Top 5 finish. On 16, Streelman barely missed a 19 feet slick, downhill birdie putt that ran 7 feet past the hole. He missed the comeback par putt.

For his efforts in the Chas.Schwab Kevin pocketed $237,075. He, Adam, and Alex will play in the Memorial beginning June 1. In the KFT Max Greyserman and Ryan Blaum move to Raleigh this week for the UNC Health tourney. Adrien Pendaries continues to play in the PGA Tour LatinoAmerica. Also, Julian Suri is still in Europe but apparently he lost his big tour standing. I noticed he played in Denmark last week making the cut in the Challenge Tour and finishing T45.
Thursday tee times (EDT) at the Memorial Tournament:
Adam Long, 12:24 pm, #10
Kevin Streelman, 1:36 pm, #10
Alex Smalley, 1:41 pm, #1
Bob Green
Memorial 3, Duke 0 so far…blech
What the heck happened today: Kevin 79 T108, Alex 80 T112, Adam 81 T114.....?
The cut line may be as high as +5.
I believe Alex has only shot 80 once before on the Tour. But he missed the cut badly here last year. I don't think he likes the course, may just not fit him. I imagine it's hard to pass up an invitation to Jack's tournament, but maybe this is a week he should be taking off in the future.

Right now the projected cut line is +2. I watched a little of the coverage yesterday and the announcers expected the morning scores to be better which seemed to be the case. So far this morning, that appears to be the case for Kevin and Adam who are -3 in their rounds thru 7 and 12 holes respectively. Alex is improved too but still +1 today and just finishing out his round at this point.
Long has five birdies but a double bogey as well and sits at +6 - needing a lot of help to play the weekend. Kevin at +4 has a shot and could use the course playing tough this afternoon.
No one made the cut. 1st round killer…..
Alex and Adam will both be playing in the Canadian Open next week. Alex squandered all the progress he made in the FedEx standings over the past few weeks. He had fought back up to 63, but is projected to fall back to 70, right on the line for the playoffs and keeping his card for next year.

After watching a bunch of the 3rd round at Memorial, I can see how the Duke players struggled. There are triple bogeys all over the place. Hideki got to -10 at one point and then went +6 the rest of the round. This feels like one that Rory will win but who knows.
Alex ends up only dropping 2 places to #65 (506 points) in the FedEx standings. Most of the guys who made the cut and were leapfrogging him had rough weekends.
Kevin is #109 (281) and Adam is #137 (173). They're running out of tournaments to make the playoffs, #70 has 484 points. A tournament finish of 10th place is worth 75 points, I can't see either of them making it. They will be fighting in the fall to keep their cards.
And Alex is no sure thing. He had good finishes in the Canadian and Scottish Opens last year...but of course Opens are played on different courses every year so I'm not sure we can project much.
