Started broadcasting Dodger games when they were the real Trolly Dodgers, continued to Hollywood. One of the last links to Brooklyn for the franchise.

RIP, Vin. My memories of Vin go back to then 70s, when he is the age I am now. A master of his craft, he understood the game he called and his role in it.

    Vin Scully

Perhaps the greatest sports broadcaster in any sport. Definitely Baseball. The Voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers passed away at 94.

Tough week to lose two iconic sports legends.

Recently I’ve listened to his call of the last inning of Koufax perfect game a few times. And his call of the Gibson HR. Both are great in such different ways.

Interview with Roy Firestone on Up Close. Well worth the listen.

Ahhhh the beards, low and away, ball 2.

The very, very best. Thankfully we have clips and youtube of him. RIP Vin.

Incredible announcer - RIP. Perfect voice. And perfect feel for the game - he knew when to talk and when to shut up, and just seemed like a good, down-to-earth guy. As the child of two parents who grew up in Brooklyn in the 50s (though my dad was a Giants fan), I have a very large soft spot in my heart for anything tied to the Brooklyn Dodgers, and there aren't many remaining.

Another great one passes away. Vin Scully and Jack Buck were my favorite sports announcers. I guess they're together now spectating and enjoying baseball games. Vin's second wife, the late, Sandi Hunt Scully was the first cousin of a good friend of mine. She says that Vin was a loving husband and a joy to be around. The world is worse off with Vin and Bill Russell missing today.

    RIP, Vin

It's pretty astounding to recall that I used to listen to Vin on my Zenith transistor radio starting in 1956...

Great man, good long life. I hope he's enjoying that perfect diamond in heaven.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

Sad day. Being a life long Dodger fan, I will miss Vin Scully. RIP Vin. Losing Russell and Scully in one week is a blow. We won’t see their like again.
