Jon Stewart - Mark Twain Prize 2022

I miss him 4 nights a week. Nobody has ever done it better, and nobody in recent memory has launched as many careers.

His work for the 9/11 first responders is the closest thing to a modern Mr. Smith Goes to Washington as I’ve seen.

I was just thinking about this a month ago, after seeing Jason Jones in TV's "The Flight Attendant" and Jessica Williams in the most recent Fantastic Beasts movie.

For a late night person, Jon Stewart's Comedy Tree is second only to that of Lorne Michaels. I'm pretty sure Stephen Colbert was a correspondent on "The Daily Show" when Craig Kilborn hosted, but he didn't become what he is today until Jon Stewart arrived.

These are just the on-air people. Writers on the show have branched out to create, produce, run, and/or write for a number of shows like Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Portlandia.

You also have people like Jordan Klepper, who started under Stewart but still work under Trevor Noah, and Noah himself, who overlapped with Stewart for maybe a year before taking over.

You are correct, Colbert mentioned that in the link/show. I think my favorite recurring thing ever on The Daily Show was Even Step(v)hen.
