    Degenerate PGA Contest 2022

The PGA is this week at Southern Hills. I hope others are excited for another contest.

Here are the rules, based on last month's Masters:
    1. Select a team of as many golfers as the "salary cap" allows.
    2. The salary cap is 30 points - use them wisely!
    3. Each player's "cost" against the salary cap is their OWGR points total rounded down. So, Scottie Scheffler "costs" 9; Jon Rahm 8, Collin Morikawa 7, etc.
    4. Anyone whose OWGR points is less than 2, costs 2. In other words, no player in the field costs less than 2.
    5. You can pick any player in the field - it's not a draft, so in theory you could have the exact same team as someone else.
    6. Your final score is based on the total money won by all the players on your team. If one of your players misses the cut, you get $0 for that player.
    7. As a tiebreaker, you also pick the winning score relative to par (e.g., -12).
MKirsch traditionally tallies the scores. I hope he will again.

    Kindly,
    Sage Grouse

Thanks sage for getting this going. I am looking forward to this weekend’s tournament. I believe MKirsch also links to the OWGR and field pages. Maybe he will be so kind to do that for us again as we make our team selections for this major championship.

Yup, I will take on the scoring. One of these days I'll figure out how set up live scoring, but that day is not today unfortunately.

Ballsy strategy replacing Bryson if he can’t go with a player not in the field!

Im is apparently not in the field. I was going to pick him.

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

At the risk of wandering into grumpy old man territory here, I am having trouble getting excited about the PGA Championship in May. Not that it was appointment viewing in August, but it just feels crammed in between the Masters and US Open.
