Here's some outside (and upbeat) perspective on 15 Duke players likely to make an impact next season.

Interesting read for sure. Upbeat perspective is certainly an understatement, cause it seems we will fill most NFL rosters.

Certainly nice reading about a couple of the guys on both sides of the line! Agree that upbeat is an understatement but that was a great read, thanks for sharing!

    Bowl memories
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."

Enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing the link. I’m optimistic the offensive line can return to being a team strength.

It does seem a bit optimistic to think the NFL is looking carefully at 15 or more of our guys, but this is the operative framework:

"Similar to others on this list, XXX may be in line for a breakout season."

I'm in favor of breakout seasons; we'll see...

If this article is even half correct, just a further indictment of last year’s coaches. If the new coaches can teach, we may exceed expectations this fall.

It was very befuddling to many of us that Duke wasn't more successful on the field given that we DID have talent. Thankfully we still have some coming back; the portal wasn't nearly as brutal as I was expecting. (It sure would have been had Cutcliffe been given another year.)

The strange thing is that our recruiting didn't really tail off significantly. It sure felt like player development really tanked, however. I'm not sure if we'll exceed expectations in the fall, but I hope to see some promise with the new staff.

Decline in assistant coach talent is my theory.

Bob, I agree. How many times did the defense come to and around the line of scrimmage looking befuddled, at the sidelines as the offense was hiking the ball.
There were other issues also. A drop off in conditioning, a predictable, stale playbook.
The program just seemed to hit the proverbial wall. Like Cut said over and over, that’s on him. Great guy, resurrected the program from the dead, but he seemed to burn out badly, and I would say he burned before COVID.

Beat me to it. The one nice thing about the NW game time is you can fly to/from Evanston in one day if you want to do a whirlwind trip.

it's a nice trip there...the fans are cordial, and nearby Chicago is a terrific city (take the Chicago Architectural Assoc river tour, if you never have...marvelous).

I may go to that one. Although for me it's a 15 minute walk ... 😀

I went a few years ago to witness the Duke victory and got cheap tickets in the Northwestern player family section somehow (great seats). Everyone around was super nice too even though I was wearing Duke gear.

Went to the game at NW in 2016 (and the next week win at ND). The folks behind kept saying all game how little they knew about football as if it made their academic status more worthy or something.

My lower lip was probably bloody from biting it the whole game. The ND game though was outstanding!
