A few races for the 7/9/2022 weekend:
The 4th race at Belmont is the Suburban Handicap:

Dynamic One has the figures.
Max Player has back class but has been lost. Only 5 runners so any horse having a good day will get big money.
Some big money Turf races at Belmont too:
The Belmont Oaks for fillies:

McKulick appears to be the favorite and
Cairo Memories (with Mike Smith) has been good recently. But there are a lot of Euros visiting for the big money.
The $1M Belmont Derby is interesting:

Tiz The Bomb looks to establish his Turf cred after a so so attempt at the Triple Crown.
Classic Causeway tries the turf for the first time after a 3rd in the Ohio Derby; he HAS a turf pedigree being out of Giants Causeway.
Emmanual from the Blue Grass Stakes demands respect. And of course, more euros.
If you're interested in the Iowa Oaks and Iowa Derby [
Rattle N Roll], look at the first link for Pletcher. I didn't see anything that excited me there.
The Los Alamitos Derby is on Saturday:

Slow Down Andy should win this; he also won here the Los Alamitos Futurity when he beat Messier. Or maybe that isn't saying much. Horses for courses? He hasn't run much so if he's ready..?!
At Prairie Meadows, the Cornhusker Handicap:

Warrant, Silver Prospector, and
Rated R Superstar. These horses are anything but consistent, which will get you a price if you have a favorite.
Warrant has the highest average speed, but loses Prat. Silver Prospector wins once every 2 years but is the only one of the big 3 that keeps his jockey. Rated R Superstar will need his best effort.
Discussion is happening for the entrants for the Haskell (7/23) and the Jim Dandy (7/30) both can be considered prep races for the Travers. It used to be that the Haskell and the Travers were either/or, but this makes things interesting. It sounds like minds are not made up for the Preakness winner
Early Voting to go to the Haskell or the JD. If
Classic Causeway goes this weekend on the turf, I don't think he's running in the Haskell. The big gun in the Haskell is
Jack Christopher; undefeated, but has never gone the distance of 1 1/8 miles. It sure hasn't looked like it would be a problem.
Home Brew won the Pegasus at Monmouth and looked really good doing it.
Zandon looks like he's going to Saratoga directly. Mr. Baffert has
Pinehurst, who won the Saudi Derby, looks to be coming to NJ for this race (maybe he likes the sand at the Jersey Shore?). Mr. B also has a horse named
Taiba, who was all the rage winning the Santa Anita Derby and had a good view of the top horses in the KYD.
Cyberknife and
Howling Time, the head-bobbing duo from that exciting Matt Winn stakes look to be headed here. There are a few other lesser knowns, but they have little chance of getting a call in the stretch at Monmouth. Things will solidify in a week.
