It's downright hilarious to look at the historical roster of matchups for this game, given the FSU/Miami blood rivalry bonanza the conference had in mind at its inception:
- 2005: Florida State-Virginia Tech
- 2006: Wake Forest-Georgia Tech
- 2007: Boston College-Virginia Tech
- 2008: Boston College-Virginia Tech
- 2009: Clemson-Georgia Tech
- 2010: Florida State-Virginia Tech
- 2011: Clemson-Virginia Tech
- 2012: Florida State-Georgia Tech
- 2013: Florida State-Duke
- 2014: Florida State-Georgia Tech
- 2015: Clemson-north carolina
- 2016: Clemson-Virginia Tech
- 2017: Clemson-Miami
- 2018: Clemson-Pitt
- 2019: Clemson-Virginia
- 2020: Clemson-Notre Dame
- 2021: Wake Forest-Pitt
In a normal year, if either of these teams made the championship game, we (and they) would know they had little or no chance. But this year, either of those teams has a legitimate chance to be the ACC Champ. So bizarre! (Or so sad?)
i mean, every game since 2008 has had clemson or FSU. and before that, it was VT. I'd say this is the worst matchup since 2006, and even then GT was more relevant.
If things continue this way, ACC going to be making out 12 years from now when they're still getting paid by ESPN on a contract for games that most people don't want to watch.
April 1
ACC - "So, the ACC championship is between the Black Knights of Charlottesville High School and the Fighting Saints of Our Lady of Angels Monastery."
ESPN - "Wait, what? Its between a high school and a seminary school?"
ACC - "Well, they're the ACC's divisional champions. And its a nunnary, they play tough D."
Not a lot of defense on display so far.

Still in 1st quarter.

Didn’t know RG 3 was a booth guy now. I’ve really enjoyed listening to him.
Michigan Iowa is a fun one so far. UM up 14-3 with two big plays early. Iowa defense has locked in recently.
