Hi everybody!

Three games at this venue will help Gonzaga, that they were all played since Monday could hurt them. They don’t have that deep a bench, and games tire teams out. Also, we’ve been there a few days and are probably getting comfortable in the building as well. A 10:30 (real time) start just sucks, especially without a full day’s slate of games to keep the fans pumped, as would be the case in the NCAA tournament. That said, I’m tan (not really), rested and ready and have a very powerful talisman for this season. ‘Nuff said bout dat. To the master Bates haters, the kid is big, cool under pressure (I think), and can nail three pointers and make passes and generally plays smart. There’s every reason to think he will get decent minutes …if need be. I’m excited about our back court. I think Moore and Keels will be disruptive, Roach as well, on D. I think the zags are expecting Mark Williams to follow Chet the stick at the perimeter, but I don’t: That’s where Paolo will cover Chet, with Mark still hanging around to protect the rim. Overall, I am irrationally optimistic about this game. At the risk of jinxing everything including my lottery tickets tonight, I predict 93-88 Duke.

I think with the way Gonzaga has dominated other top teams, Duke has a great opportunity to come out and punch them in the mouth during the first 5-10 minutes of the game. Duke has the horses to win this game and I expect a big game from Keels. I think he is one of those players that elevates his game during these big moments.
