Big Game for State. Are we going to put on our big boy pants and keep control of the Atlantic's Championship slot, or are we going to put on our diapers and *!@$ ourselves when we have a chance to take a huge step as a program.
Stay tuned!
Syracuse is tied with the Clemson late in Q2. Can Clemson be this bad?
Syracuse ended that game in the most Duke way possible. 4th and 1, then decide not to go for it, in favor of your kicker who of course misses it.
Maybe it was windy in that dome.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Just watched the highlights and a little context on the FG attempt decision. More than 40 seconds left, 4th an 1, ball at 31 and if he makes the 48 yd FG it’s his longest of the year and game is tied.
I could better understand this decision if either the FG was for the win or if was much closer in. But Syracuse had time to continue the drive and hopefully win the game or at least have a chip shot. I get so annoyed when commentators/coaches say take the 3 points here. A 48-yd FG attempt by college kicker is not a sure thing.
I didn't like the 3rd down play call, and thought that killed the drive... 3rd and 2 at the Clemson 31 with 43 seconds left and a timeout in your pocket, and Syracuse hands the ball off for a 1 yard gain (after calling their second timeout following an 8 yard completion on 2nd and 10, mind you), forcing them to call their final TO. If you're going to run the ball there, you should do it without burning the second timeout, getting up to the line quickly and snapping the ball before the Clemson D can get organized. Having called the second timeout, I figured Syracuse would run a quick pass play there, see if they could move the sticks and keep the Clemson D back on their heels. I thought the running play was a really poor call and sealed their fate.
28-7 Pitt late in Blacksburg.
Fuente has to be fired after this year, right?
Virginia Tech football is abysmal.
Have I ever mentioned how lucky I think the Heels are, and how much I hate them for it?
