Frankly, I got to the “ED” and panicked before finishing.

Oh, and now for something completely different — in the Boston-Houston game, they just played part of “Althea” as they broke to commercial. Props.

During the Bucs/Eagles game, they also broke away to a GD song last night. Can't remember which one, but I paid more attention to that singular moment than the rest of the game.

Fox (I think) has been using Widespread Panic's Ain't Life Grand as cutaway music lately for NFL games and I always get a little kick out of it.

I remember reading something at some point about how one of their producers is into jam bands like the Dead, Phish, etc. I also heard the Dead song last night and my ears perked up, though I also don't recall what it was. Maybe Shakedown?

Daily Deepstack results so far. (Payout is pretty flat — pay 15% of the field but really need to final table to make money). Oh, and the WSOP rake is steep — you definitely pay a premium at all events whether for bracelets or not.

Venetian, Orleans, and others are also running series during the WSOP. Less rake, but no vaccine requirement AFAIK.

Today was all about the parties. I may wait until Monday to play a WSOP tourney.

Good luck. The #35 freeze out looks fun, and that eliminates one of the (many) edges that professionals have over recreational players.

    Was the venue non-smoking?

In terms of the scene, it is quite crowded but it really feels safe because they are taking this vaccination thing seriously. Everyone is masked up at all times except when you’re at the table.

After the late night insanity that was the chainsmokers concert, I decided not to enter any tournaments on Sunday. So today is my first day playing in the series.

In the $500 frees out today, starting stack of 25k. I made a couple really nice moves, including one where I got 8k off a guy who had a better hand than me. I got up to about 55k. Currently down to 40k, but I avoided a bad hand that could have taken me out where a guy caught trips and I had top pair. It could have been a nightmare but I read him well. Im pleased.

Good luck, and good to hear. I hope the dailies and the s-n-g’s are strong attendance too. Those are always fun, even with a high rake.

I went out a few hours ago, before the dinner break. I’m kinda mad at myself.
I had pledged to play pretty tight pre-flop and not get too much in unless I had a real hand. Stay out of trouble I told myself. Then I just spaced and did this…

    I had K-10 spades. 800-1600 blinds.

I had about 50k in chips, a decent stack for sure but not huge. No reason to rush yet. I called the blind from early position. The table chip leader then raised to 4000 and I called.

Flop came Kd- 8s- 4s. Both the 8 and 4 were spades. I bet 5000 and he called.

Turn was a blank, not a spade, and I checked. He bet about 7500 and I shoved my last 30k. He snap called and showed pocket aces. I had outs — a spade, K, or 10 — but none hit. All done.

The pre flop call is what has me burning. I could have just folded and I probably should have never called the big blind in the first place (esp in early position). I was probably behind when I made that call and that is what I had been trying to avoid. After the flop hits me with a flush draw, I guess I did ok (though any call of my shove clearly has me beat and there are a lot of hands that have my 10 out kicked) but it is the loose call preflop that has me upset at myself.

Ahh well. Had a good night at blackjack, almost made back what today’s entry cost me. I will be playing in the $1500 bounty turbo tomorrow. That should be fun and truly wild! Need to get cards or you are likely gonna be toast from the blinds pretty quickly.
