Should have kicked and taken the points there imo.

This is how you cheaply slow down a hurry up offense. So lame. Needs to be disincentivized somehow.

I’m ok with going for it but didn’t like the play call. I guess they were hoping Tech was expecting another try with Durant and thought they could catch them napping

Why go for it when you have a chip shot FG in a game where you know you need points? Especially when you just forced a turnover. It’s free points!

Fourth and a yard or less I feel like it’s pretty good odds and I’d rather play for a touchdown

I agree with this. We finally have some momentum from the turnover. To come away with no points just negates that. Plus it’s not like we have a dominant O line who controls the los and can get us a yard whenever we need it. Take the points!

Why are we making virtually no attempt to throw the ball?

Sorry, unless you really don't trust your kicker I think you take the points there. Also, not looking great in punt coverage there.

Maybe worried about a wet ball?

But seriously… GT is out-gaining Duke in the air by 3x.

I agree with brlftz. A touchdown is so much more important than a field goal in a game where your points will be at a premium, and if you're going to convert the fourth down even half the time, I'm sure that going for it is +EV.

Right play- just not enough push

Not even a bubble pass? What reality are we living in?

My only thought is that maybe Gunnar is not comfortable in throwing a wet ball? Otherwise, these types of conditions usually benefit a passing game, because receivers have the advantage in running routes on wet turf.

It's amazing, the ESPN Gamecast feature has been around for at least 10 years, and it still sucks.

Exactly this. I always thought wet turf favored the offense if the rain wasn't coming down too hard.

This possession seems to belie my supposition.

We need a critical TD here...let's punch it in, Devils.
