I'm sure you can get some pie action on this board. And the investment thread has strayed into crypto currencies, which may or may not help. Sorry, I'm guessing this is not helpful...
If I wanted to legally lay down some money on Duke winning it all next year, how would I go about doing that? What sites have you used that you’d recommend?

Go to Vegas. Depending on where you live, you can open an account at Fanduel, sugar hill or several others.
Future bets on duke are always very unfavorably priced in Vegas because there is a lot of demand. Still can be fun, but just be aware you’re not getting a good deal.
I *think* if you place a bet in Vegas, you can get your winnings mailed to you without going out a second time. But never tried it, and would rather go back to Vegas anyway.
If it’s not legal in your state, not sure of a legal way to do it without traveling.
I know a guy, just sayin'

Okay, when I say that I am a noob I really mean it so bear with me. When you say “go to Vegas” do you mean literally fly there in person? I was remembering that online betting was legalized a couple years ago. But maybe I’m wrong? I feel like the nerd who has to ask the other kids how to do drugs 8-)
My friends and I have used Bovada before. Worked fine for us!
Online sports betting isn’t legal in most states except fantasy leagues. (Bovada.com gets away with it somehow though.) Plenty of local bookies take sports bets - if you know a regular poker player he/she can hook you up. Otherwise you will have travel to a state with legalized sports betting. Vegas of course. But closer by (if you are in NC) Virginia has in state online sports betting, but you might have to be a resident - not sure.
I'm going to be in Atlantic City in about a week and plan to check out the futures... may make a wager myself
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
It looks like sports betting just started a few weeks ago at the casino in Cherokee, NC:

A little nugget:
Not sure exactly how extensive it is, but you would need to go there physically to wager legally. (And, screw you Litsky!)The first legal bet made in the state was by a guest named Matthew Litsky, who wagered for North Carolina to beat Wisconsin in the Men’s NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately for Mr. Litsky, the Tar Heels lost by 23 the following evening.
I meant to mention the Indian reservations in western NC but forgot. As OPK mentions the sports bets offered may not be real extensive. It won't be full menu like Vegas so I wouldn't just assume they have long term futures on Duke bball at this time. But a phone call would clear that up.
Appreciate all the advice! I read somewhere that the odds on Duke winning it all were something like 20:1 right now which seemed insanely high (or maybe "low"?) given the roster we have. But it sounds like the process is more complicated than I would have liked. Oh well, I'll have to feed my urge with pie bets and fake money in the degenerates pool.
Vegasinsider.com has Duke at 18/1
unc is 33/1
Zags are 9/1 faves now
If sports wagering is legal in your state i recommend FanDuel.
I'm not a gambler, but I know a lot of folks on this board who are, and it's worth noting that China, putting all kinds of restrictions on private enterprise recently, has turned it's lazy gaze to Macao, which announced that it is undergoing a 45 day public "consultation" which is likely to put new regulations on the casinos: https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/15/inves...ntl/index.html
For the gambling world, this is a big, big deal.

This article notes that 90% of Wynn gambling revenue comes from Macau...it's what Steve Wynn does when he's not throwing his elbow through Picassos.
