Woop! The season is here!
Fun tOSU-Minn game last night.
Down here, UGA-Clemson is the highlight of the non-Duke weekend.
Alabama-Miami could be fun, as could UCLA-LSU.
Glad the season is here!
Who should we all be watching this year?
Ohio State looked mortal last night in their win over Minnesota. It was close for 3 quarters or so, with a final of 45 - 31.
Buckeyes are breaking in a new QB and their defense gave up significant yardage and points. On the other hand, their OL and receivers looked terrific. Bottom line -- they are again the favorite for B1G but may get a loss (or two?) along the way. Good test coming up next week vs Oregon.
The NCSU Wolfpack thumped South Florida last night in Raleigh 45-0.
Tonight, Mack Brown takes #10 UNC-CH to Blacksburg for a visit at Virginia Tech. The Tar Heels are only -5.5 right now …
Wake Forest hosts Old Dominion tonight, too.
The ACC Atlantic as usual goes through Clemson (shocker) and the Coastal goes through UNC-CH or Miami, FL in my opinion.
Northwestern plays Michigan State tonight. Tough opener. Should be interesting to follow for Duke fans.

Go Hokies!
Go Sparty, I guess?
From about 6 to 9 pm tonight I am one with Hokie nation. Go Turkeys!
So, uh, are there any good games today?
In a battle of top 20 teams, I just watched the Penn State defense, featuring Derrick Tangelo, have a successful goal line stand against no. 12 Wisconsin with 2 minutes left. PSU ahead by 6.
Tulane gave Oklahoma a fun ride up to the end.
In fairness, I only watched the last few minutes, so I am not sure if he started or how much he played. But I looked up his number (PSU doesn’t have names on their jerseys), and he was in for their goal line stand for sure.
I always thought he looked so big at Duke. Today, beside the other defensive linemen for Penn St., not so much.
Alabama has obviously reloaded. Miami, thought to be a top 20 team, doesn’t belong on the same field with them. 20-0 early in the 2nd. Night night.
Hard to decide which side of the ball is more impressive for ‘Bama. Just dominating all aspects.
As god is my witness, right now ESPN says the score of the USC- San Jose St game is 4-0.
It is just a typo, the real score is 3-0 and ESPN is just showing it wrong on their web page, but I hit that boxscore as fast as I could to see a game where there had been 2 safeties!! I was so bummed to see it was only a FG and a typo

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Miami rushes a 4th and goal at the 1 and gets stopped. Alabama turns around and throws a 94 yard TD pass. 34-3. Only thing remaining to see is if Saban shows some mercy to the young UM coach or if he piles it on.
