The first time in history that Duke men and women have defeated UNC in the same regular season
Women’s team now #2; Men’s team now #6
Will Michelle Cooper and Eliot Hamill be national players of the year??
Will Coach Church and Coach Kerr get to finally hoist the championship hardware?
These teams are absolutely electric to watch
Grit and athleticism
Great goalkeeping
Iron clad defense
Ball possessing midfields
Top flight finishing up top
Tremendous depth
Koskinen is the place to be this fall
The Duke women are now raked #2 in the latest Coaches Poll. Florida State remains #1. Our opponent this Thursday is #7 Virginia.

Duke v UVA - scoreless at the half
Michelle Cooper is in covid protocol. Also another player but I can't remember the name at the moment.
Virginia takes a 1-0 goal with 33 to go in the game on a beautiful free kick goal.

Cooper and Migli on the field…it is likely a VERY different game
ACC road games are tough. Virginia is a good team. Cooper could have made the difference. Not a bad loss. Next up is unranked Virginia Tech on Sunday in Blacksburg. The Hokies are 7-2-1 and they battled the Cheats to a 2-2 tie last night in Chapel Hill. Hopefully Duke will be at full strength.
COVID protocol
Freshman Defender Baleigh Bruster was also out. She had an apparent leg injury early in the Cheats game and was not ready to go for UVA. Brewster has been a pleasant surprise with solid defensive skills and occasional offensive playmaking. She should be a force for Duke's defense in future years.
According to her Duke profile, Bruster was ranked as the No. 15 overall recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com in the 2021 class. She is a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-America selection and has been on all the USA national teams since age 14.

Wow, that's three pretty big losses. Not that we're looking for excuses, but when you're playing the #7 team in the country and you're missing your best offensive asset, a reliable starting forward, and a defender who played starter's minutes even in games she didn't start (Bruster player 62 minutes against Stanford coming off the bench), to lose 1-0 on the road is unfortunate, but still a first-rate performance. I missed the game, but the recap made it sound like a really even contest, even with us being short-footed.
