    Cooper on USWNT Short List

This seemed like this only place to put this: Duke's Michelle Cooper made the USWNT "short list" for possible selection for this summer's CONCACAF tournament. Granted, the short list isn't exactly short, with 59 names on it and only 23 final roster spots. But still, a rising college sophomore being on the list at all is pretty dang impressive. And by the time to Women's World Cup happens in 2023, who knows?

    Congrats, Michelle!

Thanks for posting that, hopefully she gets some PT.

On the local front Raleigh native and Blue Devils defender Katie Groff is playing for the NC Courage u23 team this summer.

I’d say it’s more likely that Coop goes to Costa Rica later this summer for the U-20 world championship. She and incoming freshman midfielder Carina Legeyre are on the squad that is in France for the last warmup friendlies starting tomorrow.

I completely agree, and that's a wonderful thing, too, but the USWNT is the pinnacle of women's soccer on the planet. It is extra special to be on that short list. But yes, I wish her luck in France, and hopefully Costa Rica, too.
