First Sign of Spring to Come

[Section 15]

Today was cold with an even colder wind chill. The trees are bare and the grass is brown. However, today I saw the first sign that spring is almost here, the arrival of a nesting pair of Mallards to the pond next to my house. They have been reliably arriving just before spring every year since we moved here in 2015. Here is a picture I shot 30 minutes ago:

Just to prove that their migration doesn't leave them too tired for anything else, here is a picture of the female and her brood from couple of years back, and of course later in the year.

With temps in the mid 60’s, I saw my first birdie of year on Saturday too! And it was on the first hole I played this year! I made a 2 on the par 3 10th hole at Starmount Forest CC! Made my first par of the year on 11! And shortly thereafter the round went to wankerville
