Can she bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan?

Have to be a certain age to get that, so for the edification of the young'uns (I hadn't seen this in decades, yay youtube):

I again hope that they will properly update this on FIBA's site that tracks official 3x3 events.

Force 10 is a sports company that owns the Seattle Storm in the WNBA. They started a pro 3x3 team two years ago and added a few more teams this year including one with the WNBA's Chicago Sky. Haley Peters joined one of the teams during the European offseason after playing well at the national championships last month and her new team won the Red Bull tournament in Chicago.
Red Bull at least sort of updated the tournament here, although their information does not match up with USA Basketball's article, which is mildly concerning for the players involved:
    https://play.fiba3x3.com/categories/...32014/overview
    https://play.fiba3x3.com/events/e1b9...46fb1/schedule

There were five teams in Charlotte and they apparently played a round-robin followed by a one-game final even though there was apparently a three-way tie at the top of the standings. Chicago had six teams, but four of them were part of the Force 10 group so I guess the two teams of lesser known players missed out on the chance to be the only teams and take home some decent money.

Commit Emma Koabel was named in Canada's U19 team for the world championship in a little over two weeks:
    https://www.basketball.ca/news/canad...world-cup-2021

Games will be on YouTube and then the latter stages will be on ESPN+.

Former commit Olivia Pollerd was named to Australia's team.

The women's 3X3 gold should be exciting for DWBB fans.

When Kara was hired, there were some questions since she had never been a head coach.

Could she assemble a staff? I'm no expert, but they look pretty darn good.

Could she recruit? From her work in the transfer portal (did anyone do better?) to results so far in her first HS class (2 top-20 in the bag, on the short list of at least 2 top-10), that's looking pretty darn good.

Could she coach? 3X3 is a bit different since there is no sideline coaching, but she got the right players in the right roles, prepared them and they beat the world. That has to get the attention of class of '22 kids who have only seen her coach 4 college games.

    Exciting times for DWBB.

From the interviews, Kelsey Plum on Kara Lawson:

"If I could go back in time, I would play for Kara"

That's Kelsey Plum, the all-time NCAA scoring leader in womens basketball.

If 11 players transfer out, then it's clearly time for a change:

Have they all found new homes yet, or is there now a chance that some will return to Syracuse?

Commit Emma Koabel is on Canada's U19 team that start the World Championship on Saturday.

Early games will be on YouTube, which allows for easy replays, with ESPN+ taking over if they progress far enough.

I also hope Kara has Jon has Kyle working for us. Janiah Barker and Kiki Rice are on the 3x3 U18 World Cup women's team playing this month in Hungary. Kyle Filipowski is on the men's team.

    https://www.usab.com/news-events/new...ams-named.aspx

Another plus: the coaches are from high school. As the only Olympic 3X3 coach the USA has ever had, and a gold medal winner at that, I wonder if Kara gets to talk to them.

Emma Koabel started the tournament as more of a late bench option, but earned progressively more playing time as Canada finished 5th. Presumably she will continue to hone her shot in her last year in high school as that will be her path to playing time in the future.

Duke has picked up a very late recruit for this year, a former Syracuse commit Shayeann Day-Wilson of Canada, a 5'5" point guard with a scorers mentality. She is ranked#41 by ESPN.
