Conventional wisdom would say that the thick rough at the US Open would reward accurate drivers, but that hasn't been a key to victory in recent years; since 2012 only one guy in the top 20 in Driving Accuracy coming into the US Open has won:
Year Winner Driving Accuracy Rank Driving Distance Rank 2012 Simpson 125 101 2013 Rose 17 26 2014 Kaymer 37 47 2015 Spieth 72 69 2016 DJ 162 3 2017 Koepka 173 9 2018 Koepka NR NR 2019 Woodland 64 11 2020 Bryson 140 1
It seems bombers still have the advantage, particularly the last 5 years

I will post my customary listing of how many people took this golfer and that golfer in the morning. I think the deadline for entering is usually 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday; is that right?
Team Graceland:
Collin - 7
Bryson - 6
Reed - 6
Jordan - 4
Hideki - 4
Phil - 3
Score -4
Looking at how Team Mediocrity did in the PGA, I decided making the cut ain't good enough, and I needed some big boys, so here goes nothing:
Team Turk:
Rahm - 8
Morikawa - 7
Schauffele - 6
Koepka - 5
Scheffler - 4
tiebreaker: -5
"Quality is not an option!"
Five of the Team Sage stalwart seven have the same tee times -- going off at 1:36P from both 1 and 10: Leishman, McIlroy, Rahm, Reed, and Rose. Maybe I'll actually see my team on TV. Streels is 20 minutes later and Finau gets a morning tee today (8:02A).

Tee times at the 2021 United States Open have been delayed due to the marine layer descending upon Torrey Pines.
Play is set to go off at 10:30 am ET (7:30 am local time)
This is the first fog delay in a United States Open since the first round in 2004 at Shinnecock Hills.
Talk about setting up for some prime time golf on tv tonight on the East Coast!

I think these are correct. BTW, I didn't include the pick of Sam Burns because that pick took the picker over the 30 limit.

The mercurial Matthew Wolff must be fun to watch. Birdies 3 of the first 4 to take the early lead. 2 bogeys and a double in the next 4 to go +1. Then 3 straight birdies. Then a bogey.
Edit: Then a birdie.
