While I never studied French, I believe her sign translates to, "I am an idiot." Hope all the guys are OK.

I've always liked Geraint Thomas. Like him even more after seeing this tweet.

Steve Bartman is single again. Think I found him a date.

Looking at Twitter, a few said he was on camera walking around shortly after that.

I always felt sorry for Steve Bartman.

Today's fan with the sign? Not so much.

Haven't seen all of today's stage, and may not, but love the outcome of it! PouPou would be so proud of his grandson.

Might get others to think twice before turning their back to the riders.

I saw that but what can they really do?
Im not condoning the fans behavior.but the guy did run into it .
I know it shouldnt have been there but.
Im not a bicycle race fan.
Besides injurys which i do not wish on any athlete .i have to admit i found it a tiny bit unbelievably comical.
Your on a bike and you are not looking forward . Thats like walking into a door.

How do train for this then not pay attention.this just baffles me .

I stress the fan was wrong .

How as he going to avoid it? There were fans to the right and other cyclists to his left and behind him.

Typically, fans are watching for the riders and not trying to get on TV. Those out on the road, like on a mountain stage, jump out of the way.

Riders have to assume the roadway is clear..there simply isn't room to leisurely drift away from the side of the road...

… especially in a packed peloton.

Big crashes in the early stages are pretty normal. But not often fan-caused. (I remember Lance getting pulled off a bike in the mountains by the strap of a musette bag — not sure if that was a fan or in a feeding station but I think the former).

Then, there was the team car that sideswiped a guy a few years ago and sent him into the barbed wire . . . .

It would appear that the authorities are making an all out push to find the woman responsible...that shouldn't take too long.

Yesterday was carnage! One GC contender, Thomas, losing time to put his dislocated shoulder back in. Another, Roglic, losing time and finishing showing a little too much of himself with shredded bike shorts. Sprinter Ewan out after crashing into Sagan. Pogacar also went down briefly but gained on his key rivals. Almost as treacherous as the NBA playoffs!

Are you serious? The sign was well out into the road, and she was looking the other direction. The cyclists were looking forward, but there was nothing they could do going as fast as they were in a pack. Glad you can find it comical that world-class athletes who have worked their entire lives for the event can be hurt by a fan recklessly intruding into the playing field. Would you find it funny if Zion were hurt because someone in the front row went onto the court?
