Am I wrong to doubt that Bryson can keep it on the fairway in Augusta?

No. While I marvel like every other sentient being at Bryson's analytics and power, I'm at least somewhat doubtful he can keep everything on the fairway. But it will be fun watching him try.

Won't attempt the picking contest, but I'd lean toward Bryson, Rahm, and Spieth. And I wouldn't count out Koepka either - but I have to say that as he's a Floridian.

Im an poorly experienced golf fan at best, but I don't see power players crushing Augusta.

Bobby Jones’ observation upon seeing a young Jack Nicklaus hit it exceedingly long:

“He plays a game with which I am unfamiliar.”

Augusta is all about placing the approach shot, and it helps to be hitting a short iron while others are hitting long ones into the green. But if you’re in the woods you’re gone.

There was an old joke that Delta had a ticket booth in the woods to the left of the second fairway — because if you hit it in there you were going home.

Phil won twice, and he's the epitome of the type of golfer that should never win there. Still, your point is valid a majority of the time.

What’s the over/under on DeChambeau having a serious back injury?

20+ years ago, a chiropractor joined our group of 3 on the course. Conversation would always turn to Tiger at some point during every round, and he opined that watching Tiger's swing he knew his back would probably stop him from catching Jack.

DeChambeau was pretty much a non-entity at majors until the past year. His back will probably pay the price, but he's making a lot more on the course and I can't imagine what his endorsements are doing. But my Dad threw out his back when I was 6 and he was never the same, and I know several people who have had back surgeries. Wouldn't be worth it to me, but to each his own.

    Tony Finau -- 5
    Jordan Spieth -- 2
    Sergio Garcia -- 2
    Justin Rose -- 2

Looks like 30 points to me.
    I'll guess a "Tiger-esque" -13 for the winner.

I am sure I will be wrong, but I’ll predict that the winner is -9 or -8 if that. The course is REALLY dry right now and rain may be hit or miss Friday and Saturday. Winds predicted for 8-12 mph. Plus the competition committee cannot be too happy with the scores from the fall edition and want revenge.

I’ve watched them place pins before — they’re a fairly sadistic bunch when they want to be.

Well, I haven’t really followed golf since the pandemic started so really have no idea. I’ll be shocked if that team doesn’t end up last.

I've watched/followed one tournament in the last 10 years. So we should be fine, meet you at the bottom of the pool!

Hatton only costs 5 with the round down rule so you are leaving a point on the table. Can use it to upgrade another player, or treat it like Roy Williams treat a timeout and take it with you.
