Thanks again to mkirsh for running it - much appreciated! Looking forward to the next one.
Yeah, it was a little like the 2016 Open Championship with Rasputin in the role of Phil at 17 under and 11 clear of the next player, but getting one-upped by dudog84/Henrik Stenson with an outrageous tournament to get to 20 under.

Rasputin, if you'd like a 2021 Masters commemorative cup as a runners up prize, PM me your shipping address.

Congratulations Dudog! No more slipping in under the radar. We’ll all be gunning for you at the PGA Championship.

Took your crown, eh? Another thing to curse COVID about, you didn't even get to keep it for a year.

Congrats! It is obvious that I need to change my approach to the contest. Haven't finished well since I got lucky picking DeChambeau before he became a thing years ago. Thanks to mkirsh for the work!
Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

Did y'all know that Zalatoris is not a PGA Tour member? Then how did he get into the Masters? I figured golf geeks would find this interesting.

Worst-written article I have ever read. Did he get in because he was in the top 50 of the OWGR? Apparently.

I thought it was interesting that one of his primary sponsors appeared to be Simmons Bank. I am more knowledgeable about regional and smaller banks than your average bear, and I had never heard of Simmons, so I'm guessing that most people outside of their footprint (their HQ is in Arkansas and they are in seven states) also have not. Looks like he signed a multi-year deal with them a year ago, so that was likely a wise investment by Simmons - I'm guessing that after this weekend he has some very big sponsors reaching out to him.

Thanks for posting, very interesting (though I agree with Sage, a bit hard to follow).

I also saw that he has "Mr. Gilmore, I'm your caddie" stamped on his 60 degree wedge, which is hilarious

To be clear, the title of the article is "Will Zalatoris' status explained". It was my (rhetorical) question asking what he was doing in the Masters, and I figured people reading this thread would be familiar with OWGR. The article really wasn't about the Masters qualifications. But I guess given his first name even the title is confusing.

Here's how the article should have started:
"How did Will Zalatoris get into the field of the Masters when he is not even on the PGA Tour? Simple -- he was in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He had put together a stunning series of results from relatively few appearances in PGA Tour events."
