Nope...he extended and massively used the fake class program that Dean started to win his national championships. Let's not even talk about his kids driving around expensive rental cars and he had no clue, or him letting a former player stay in a $600k rental house he owned (back when a $600k house was a big deal), or him stringing PJ Harrison along not to hurt his APR letting him think he'd be back on the team after getting busted in the Wheels for Heels scandal + drugs + a firearm. The guy is a cheat through and through. No respect. The sporting world will be better when a cheater like him is gone.

Did he win a lot? Sure, and if that's all you care about, I guess respect him for doing whatever it took to win.

• Nate Oates - very possible, he'd be on my short list.
• Wes Miller - not ready, you gotta show major recruiting hops to get this gig and mid-major coaches are not there yet
  
• Hubert Davis - not ready, exactly zero head coaching experience
  
• Mark Few - nope, he's built a juggernaut. No reason to leave. He's at Gonzaga for life.

Beard seems like the top choice on this list that is within the realm of possibility. But haven't the rumors been him to Texas? If UNC does want him, how great would it be if he chose Texas over them...

Edit re: Davis: Juwan Howard has shown that having zero head coaching experience isn't necessarily the deal breaker it might've been in the past. I think he's likely the exception rather than the rule considering his extensive experience as a top assistant with the Heat, etc., but I wouldn't completely rule out Davis on that alone.

I tend to agree with Woj that no NBA coach is leaving for college, but Stevens has a problem in that the Js are Boston's top players without being true superstars. The Celtics are thus going to have problems finding their way past Brooklyn and Philly. And the issue's not fixable without a blockbuster trade. So it might be a good time to bail before the natives get restless.

They beat Philly in the playoffs twice already. That is not the highest bar plus Tatum is just 23 years old. He will get better. The C’s are a young team that will get better.

Roy Williams is the greatest in NCAA history to be born on 3rd base twice while also utilizing massive academic fraud to keep athletes eligible in order to compete at the highest level.

That is true, but at least he earned his national championships. It’s much easier to win when your opponent gives away the game at the end, again twice.
