    Ymm, Doughnuts

Inspired by an idea from Tripping William, Skillet Donut Stout and because I'm not interested in reading about crumpets (of any type).

Chocolate iced/chocolate cake doughnuts from, who else: DD.
[redacted] them and the horses they rode in on.

Assume you mean Duck Donuts. They are my favorite.

But Voodoo Doughnuts "The magic is in the hole" in Portland, Oregon are awesome too.

Top Pot doughnuts in Seattle. So good, NFL players can't help themselves.

The old Donut Dinet next to The Ivy Room on Main St. Always good at 2:00 AM.

I will never forget the sign in their window, handwritten on cardboard (they drained the donuts on newspaper): "Donuts, 7 cents each two for 15 cents."

Another far less funny sign there was "White Watress (sic) Wanted"

Entenmann’s chocolate devils food donuts are the greatest.

I would like to propose a moment of silence for the Krispy Kreme on Ponce in Atl that recently burned down. I lived very close to there in my early 20s, back when I could eat a few fresh cooked donuts and it wouldn’t hit my waist line.

Nope, I meant DevilDeac Donuts (). Actually, I meant Dunkin' Donuts but shamelessly, couldn't resist the "dd" reference. Granted, Duck Donuts are better but Dunkin' is more widely available.

    Voodoo Doughnuts are outrageously good.

Absolutely adore the Entenmann's chocolate frosted (white cake) donuts, superb! When a donut shop burns, I imagine it's quite a fireball...

Very different. Hole cooks doughnuts to order. It's amazing. Vortex has a more broad variety of flavors.

    MD is spotty on.

Both great, but Hole is otherworldly.

Ok, sure. Absolutely. As a newish resident of Winston-Salem, I can not disagree with you here.

    Also, keep Dunkin outta here.

Don’t recall that it was still there in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s. We did go to Aunt Sue’s at odd hours, though.

So what's the verdict on Cronuts?

My favorite local shop has them as do many other shops in the area. I tried them and they were OK, but not worth the price adder.
Favorite shop is open 24 hours and temptingly on the way to the launch ramp when going fishing early in the morning.
