I’m not much of a cake guy, but one of our administrative assistants, of Greek descent (she emigrated with her parents when she was around a year old), makes a white wine cake that is TO DIE FOR.
"Amazing what a minute can do."

I’m not sure she’ll part with it. She hasn’t to date.

But I'm in Kansas and we will never meet.

Is it a frosted cake or pound cake? (As I search for recipes)

Somewhat related, I just spent the first half of the Crystal Palace - Burnley match reading a series of articles on the chemistry of baking bread and doughs. Pretty interesting on a rainy morning tbh.

I second that emotion (as long as the cake has walnuts too).

    Black Russian Cake

Moistest cake I’ve ever eaten. Oil, water, Kahlua, and vodka...plus kahlua and powdered sugar glaze... yum!

But that white wine cake sounds intriguing!

    I don’t think I’ve ever had a banana cake.

Valentine cake today: Chocolate fudge cake baked in 2 heart-shaped cake pans. Homemade chocolate buttercream frosting with cherry pie filling in between the layers and on top. And a large glass of milk.

Red Cake with non-cream cheese frosting for bday cake last night - delicious! Leftover piece came home with me.

Key Lime Pound Cake brought to office today - will have a piece with lunch.

Too much cake, I know, but will enjoy it anyway.

Red velvet is awesome. Also a big fan of hummingbird cake.
