    This hits the nostalgia heartstrings. Passed from lung cancer.

    I never watched the show.

    He was apparently an incredibly talented chess player.


    Was he a smoker? Lung cancer is quite rare in people who don't smoke, although it is not unheard of.

    He was at the Duke Children's Classic one year, along with the guy who played the principal. He was acting very strangely and complaining about not being paid for being there, a benefit golf tournament. This was shortly before his downfall.

    His cancer was reportedly small cell lung cancer, but he was not a smoker

    He didn't seem well (in the Charlie Sheen sense of the word) in his adult years. Partly because he was a child star? Who knows but lord knows all sorts of things can screw with our young minds in ways that have consequences as adults. Global celebrity and the trappings that come with it are a big, big thing to deal with as a kid.

    Being a major success and celebrated as a kid and then your career pretty much dying afterward has to be a pretty awful experience.
