Ugh...my son got married in the Chapel a couple years ago on the Saturday after the Friday night opener. Of course the rehearsal dinner was Friday night around the time the game started. My brother, who flew in from SF, ignored my instructions to head straight downtown from the airport. The Uber driver tried to take him to the WaDuke first and then they were stopped in the game day traffic. Needless to say, he and his family were very, very late to the rehearsal dinner.

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced Monday that safety Dominique Long has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Blue Devil football program.

Long will enroll at Duke in August, 2021 after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. As a four-year letter winner, Long compiled 51 tackles, two pass breakups and one blocked punt in 44 games for the Spartans. Last season, he posted a career-best six tackle performance against Indiana, including five solo stops.

Long is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, a 2020 semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation, and a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team member.

Because Friday nights are SOOOO meant to be about college football, Duke has another schedule change. This time, thankfully, it doesn't affect us much in that it's our first game of the season, which is away.

Duke plays Charlotte on September 3rd now instead of the 4th.
