Jason said on the latest podcast that Scheyer said he was close. He was supposed to be re-evaluated yesterday. They speculated that he might come back after our next game, since he hasn’t practiced and would need some time to get back in game shape.

A couple of missed opportunities at the end of the half. I expect Duke to be much more aggressive under the basket and get to the foul line in the second half.

Defense again was not disruptive enough. Wake is a pretty mediocre team. Duke needs to take much better care of the basketball.

Random thoughts:

I really like DJ Steward’s aggressiveness and his ability to score in so many different ways.

Hurt needs to stay out of foul trouble. We’re never going to do well with our best offensive weapon on the bench.

Someone else needs to step up, like Moore did against BC. We just don’t have a closer who can get us a basket when we really need it. We need a Vernon.

Too many turnovers. And the foul shooting discrepancy - ugh. Foul shots have kept them in the game.

Hopefully we can turn up the defensive pressure in the 2nd half. Some fast break points would help.

The amount of turnovers this team makes is extremely frustrating. I really enjoy watching them otherwise - it reads like a team that is putting in the effort, but is just not that good.
