For what is likely to be a chaotic season with fits and starts, it favors teams with experienced players. And in particular, experienced guard play. Teams with one and done models will improve by the end of the year but will lag their more experienced counterparts. Does this portend a shift in the balance of power or is this merely a side effect of the pandemic?
Also, looking at the rosters of other teams and their minutes played, it looks like many are already down to their 7-8 man rotations.
With just 4 games remaining in the challenge tonight, the B1G won it on the first night in 2020. They are up 6-1 with 4 games left due to Michigan State at UVa being cancelled due to Covid issues within the UVa program.
The Nov. 28, 2001 game between Michigan State and Virginia was cancelled with 15:04 in the second half, due to a wet floor at the Richmond Coliseum. When the game was called, Virginia led 31–28. That was the last UVa Michigan State ACC/B1G Challenge game to get cancelled.
Today's matchups updated with the cancellations in the first post, and copied below. Interestingly, Michigan and Wisconsin found substitute opponents and will be hosting Toledo and Rhode Island today, respectively.
