This Week in the ACC: 11/30-12/6

Now (knock on wood) we get our first full week of the season, featuring such dissonant events as the Maui Invitational in Asheville, NC. No knock on Asheville, but wanting Maui and getting Asheville is very 2020.

    The good and the bad...

Some of these losses to non-power teams are really mystifying.

Also, I think you are missing BC's loss to Villanova from your calculations.
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

You're right, that's now been updated in the first post, as well as the details for the next Maui/Asheville game on Tuesday.

In the list of records do you want to add games lost / gained due to Covid. I say gained because the VT Villanova game was an added game. Ok this may not be a good idea but I am intrigued.

Are kenpom spreads still the same home court advantage as historical years or did he adjust his algorithm? I assume same.

Wednesday games are updated, to reflect two cancellations and the finals in Maui-Asheville

looks smaller? It's only a 5 point swing between the two UNC games, whereas I thought it was supposed to be something like 7 for a home and home.

I remember Matt Coleman playing against Duke in the PK80 tournament from what had felt like many more than 3 seasons ago. He's one of those guys who feels like he's been in school for 6 years (at least to me). He had a much better game against UNC than he did in that PK80 game.

If I'm not mistaken, we recruited him hard and thought he had a good shot at landing him but ended up with Trevon Duval (even though Coleman committed to Texas first, it seemed likely he knew that Duval was coming). He seems like a great example of a lower-ranked guy who stays multiple years and winds up being a valuable veteran.

Of course, if Coleman had come to Duke then maybe we don't get Tre Jones for those two years. Who knows...

The only non-Freshmen who play for Kentucky are Olivier Saar, a transfer who is immediately eligible, and Davion Mintz, a transfer from Creighton who sat a year. Put another way, none of his top 7 players have ever played for Kentucky before this year.
