Something perhaps a bit different... the new season is upon us, and like many of you, this will be the first season in many in which I won't set foot in Cameron. I thought it might be fun to build a playlist featuring the sounds of Cameron past and present - I'm thinking the original versions of the pep band repertoire, etc. Anybody interested in helping build a list? Anybody from DUMB with inside information?
I'll start with a few eclectic selections:
DUMB Classics
- Devil with a Blue Dress On (not sure which artist)
- Rock Lobster (B-52's)
DUMB Recent Selections
- Every Time We Touch (Cascada)
- Animal (Neon Trees)
- Some Nights (Fun)
Time Out Music
- Scream & Shout (will.i.am ft. Britney Spears)
- Shots (LMFAO ft. Lil John)
I remember that there was a CD that had a playlist of Cameron hits.
Thanks - definitely a good start. I'm thinking a bit more Jeff and a bit less Neil
I'm guessing you mean this one?

A few more...
Pompeii (Bastille)
Love Runs Out (OneRepublic)
All I Do Is Win (DJ Khaled)
AFAIK, that encompasses almost everything the band plays now in cameron. Every once in a while, you get a one-off...none I can think of have had staying power. Room for "new stuff" has largely been usurped by piped in music. I'm sure I could hunt down a complete list of the current DUMB folio if you wanted.
While you'd have to ask youngin's what most of the canned songs are, the ones I recognize are
- put my hands up in the air sometimes
- all i do is win
- Cascada
- shots
- a whole ton of stuff I don't recognize

A few old-timers here might remember this favorite from the past, when Cameron was still just Duke Indoor Stadium . . .

I haven't heard Rock Lobster played in Cameron in years (though I am not at all a regular in attendance)
it's not almost every game like it was ~10 yrs ago (and obviously earlier), but they bust it out a few times a season. Students aren't really into doing coordinated dance moves anymore...and that was kind of the point of that.
I think hardly any students know the DitBD moves anymore, which is kind of sad
Hey Baby is another that's gone from nearly every game to rarely. Half the timeouts (and much of the pregame time) now being filled with canned music significantly limits the bands times to play...when it used to be pretty much all band.

The Duke Pep Band once Rickrolled the Crazies when playing “Every Time We Touch” during a pregame. I can’t recall which year, but it was hilarious to witness in person.
And who could forget...

Two words: Hey Baby.
