jeez. between GT miserably failing to exploit the rules and our not knowing the rules, there was a lot of eye-bleed there. GT winning the exchange TD vs safety.

Whatever the collegiate record for combined bonehead plays in a game was ... that record was eclipsed in one half of this game.

And that's just the players ... the coaching is not much better on either side (thinking particularly of the fourth down "play" that GT ran at midfield and the inexplicable play action in the end zone).

This is a clinic in how NOT to play football.

ehhhh...if the thought is they're going to bring everyone hard, then getting the QB a small amount ot time to get it to someone on a short route is not the worst decision. The QB needs to know he needs to unload it QUICK and to not freaking fumble.

Obviously the QB didn't execute, so ultimately the play call has to take some blame, but I reject the notion that the only option when you're backed up is to run against 8 or whatever in the box, hope to get a yard or two, and then punt after 3 plays. Is it a higher risk/reward? yes. but that doesn't make it wrong.

I completely disagree. That is exactly the time to call a quick-hit pass (the slant was working wonderfully earlier), without wasting even a nano-second on a fake that nobody is going to buy in that situation. Horrible, HORRIBLE call.
