Loperfido grand slam. Miami leads 9-4.
Final was Miami by 11-5 score. All of the pieces have to come together pretty soon.

B7: Miami 3, Duke 1. Marcus Johnson pitching for Duke now. I was out running an errand so I don’t know how Miami scored.

Miami completes the sweep with a 7-1 win.

"Hampton Inn, Omaha, how may I help you?"
"Umm, how do I go about canceling a reservation?"
Ouch - but the truth hurts I guess. This team hasn't shown any flashes of post-season since the opening series. Right now they aren't making the ACC tournament. Hard to say what happened - but pitching has hurt them a lot, as has lack of timely hitting. I listened to almost the entire game today. Too many stranded runners and the bullpen imploded.
I guess that's what we get for calling Duke a baseball school.
We would be tied for the last slot with NCSU right now. I'm not sure how the tiebreaker goes there, but it's too early to worry about it. It's really concerning we lost a series to last place BC.
To have a competitive NCAA RPI (35 or better), we probably need about a +4 or +5 overall record, .400+ ACC record, and a strong finish. There's a lot of basketball season flashbacks at this point. We probably have to win all but 1-2 of our remaining series.
Billy Seidl on the mound for Duke against NCCU. It is his first career start.
