    ISO Foreign Travel via Cinema

Real travel's out this year, so I'm trying to travel by cinema. Any suggestions of streaming movies about off-the-wall places (e.g., not France, Germany or Canada)? Here's what I've got recently:

    1. Honeyland (North Macedonia)
    2. My Happy Family (Georgia)
    3. Men in the Arena (Somalia)
    4. The Battle of Algiers (Algeria)
    5. Eternity (Peru)
    6. The Motorcycle Diaries (Argentina, Chile, Peru)
    7. Dark Waters (Egypt)
    8. The Wedding Party (Nigeria)

These were all interesting, though Eternity (90 minutes in a stone hut in the Andes without subtitles) might not be to everyone's taste.

One of my favorite movies is Baraka. It's hard to describe exactly what it is; it is an anthology of amazing imagery highlighting scenery and cultures from all over the globe. There is no dialogue, no plot. It's like watching a National Geographic pictorial in motion.

    Here's the trailer

    (Recommend you turn sound on)

and you can actually stream the whole thing here.

    Hinterland (Wales)

    (not a movie, but it's a 3-season, 13 episode series. Each episode is 90-95 minutes, so movie-like)

Copenhagen - (eponymous, and is a movie!)

Long Way Round [documentary series; a loop around the northern hemisphere on motorcycle (mostly Asia and Europe), with Ewan MacGregor and Charley Boorman]
