I've never done this before and I'm not a huge golf fan but since I live less than 100 DeChambeau drives from the course, I figured I would give it a try. Thank you for organizing.

I forgot the tie breaker. I predict that the winning score will be level par.

So far for Team Tripping: JT and Niemann = good; Kuch, Rosie & Tiger = bad.

And Winged Foot playing a little easier thus far than was expected. Lots of golf left, though.

Team CDu have one really good (JT leading), one awful (Morikawa, +6!), one pretty good so far (Finau, T6 through 13 holes), and a few okays (Schauffele and Wolff at T19 through 10, Hovland and T25 through 10).

    Wolff and Schauffele got upgraded.

For my team I’m pleased with my Oosthuizen pick. Not so much on Berger, Fleetwood and Kuchar. Kicking myself for not going with a gut instinct on Westwood - at least for now. He’s been okaying well of late and has lots of in contention in majors experience. Would love to see him make a run at it.

    Yep, finished the opening round 1, T2, T8, T14, T33, ... and a participation trophy for Morikawa.

Westwood and Luis playing well is fun for sure.

Also, was listening and hadn’t realized that tomorrow might be Mickelson’s last competitive round ever at the US Open.

Dang it. I almost made my picks Monday, but decided I should think about it. And then never actually made them. Ah well.

Lemme guess: You were gonna take JT, Reed, Rory, Wolff, and Oostie. Amirite?

Of course! Actually, I thought of just rolling over my FedEx cup team while replacing Tiger and maybe Morikawa. But I had to check the numbers, etc. Too bad.

Pretty similar for me: 1, T2, T5, T8, T22, T57, T97 (ouch). Can’t win on Thursday but can definitely lose it (looking at you Fleetwood) so I’m happy so far.

So many of us picked Thomas, having him really isn't that much of a boost to your team.

    Anyway...

    Team Evans
    Thomas 1
    Schauffele T8
    DeChambeau T14
    Fleetwood T92
    Morikawa T120

The Twitterverse is telling me that many people — including Winged Foot membership — are up in arms at how easy the course played yesterday. It sounds like conditions are supposed to be more windy today, so we’ll see what Round 2 brings.
