September brings the start of school, football season, the US Open (tennis), and now another US Open (golf). Let's kick off our contest for the "First Major" of the 2021 season!
The rules:
1. You have thirty OWGR "points" to spend on picking a team.
2. You can pick any player in the field - it's not a draft, so in theory you could have the exact same team as someone else.
3. You can pick up to 10 players, not more.
4. Each player's "cost" is their OWGR points total rounded down. So, Dustin Johnson "costs" 10: Jon Rahm - 9; Justin Thomas - 8; etc.
5. Anyone whose OWGR points is less than 2, costs 2. In other words, no player in the field costs less than 2.
6. Your final score is based on a total of the money won by all the players on your team. If one of your players misses the cut, you get 0 for that player.
7. As a tiebreaker, you also pick the winning score relative to par (e.g., -12).
Deadline to submit picks is Wednesday at midnight.
Good luck!

Just a note that OWGR #8 and two-time US Open Champion, Brooks Koepka, withdrew from the field last week due to injury. So don't pick him.
Edit: OWGR #28 Scottie Scheffler is also "out" after testing positive for COVID-19. So don't pick him, either.

Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

Can't believe last US Open here was 2006. Everyone blames Phil for losing, but the most to blame was Colin Montgomerie: last hole, 150 yards out, middle of fairway, 9 iron in his hands -- he makes 6 and loses by one shot.
Dustin Johnson 10
Adam Scott 5
Xander Schoffele 6
Tommy Fleetwood 4
Bubba Watson 2
Kevin Kisner 3
Winning Score - 4

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
This team is sure to be a loser... normally I just pick a team off tht top of my head, but this time I tried to actually think a bit, which is sure to fail. Anyway, here's my lame team:
Rahm. 9
Simpson 7
DeChambeau. 5
Rose 4
I'm 3 (lol, my phone won't do his name as anything other than the personal possessive, but u know what I mean)
I spent a long time trying to make my 2-point pick... Garcia or Speith or Dahmen or Champ or Griffin... haven't decided even yet, but I am going to decide right this second... I will go with
Garcia. 2
I am likely really going to regret this/these picks...
Jon Rahm - 9
Justin Thomas - 8
Xander Schauffele - 6
Patrick Cantlay - 5
Joaquin Niemann - 2
Tiebreaker - +2
