Got my flu shot this morning at our local CVS. Took about only 15/20 minutes (two people ahead of me).

I agree with Budworm above: I hate the 4ft-long "receipts" you get at CVS, even if you just buy an $.89 roll of mints. I once asked the check-out clerk how many rolls of paper they go through each day with each cash register. He just rolled his eyes and said "numerous".

In these difficult time they should make the receipts out of toilet paper. Think of the possibilities.

    - People could stock up on TP one stick of gum at a time.

    - CVS could make the receipts a bonus instead of issuing points.

    - CVS could charge extra for the receipt which would generate another receipt, and so on.

Our town is doing shots wed afternoons. 3 people per 30 minute slot in an otherwise empty building, so nicely spaced. I'm up the first wed in oct.

    Flu in the Southern Hemisphere

I saw a news item yesterday that reported the significant decrease in flu cases in Australia. The reporter attributed it to mask wearing and social distancing.

"Numbers from Australia’s National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System show that in the first seven months of 2020, Australia reported 21,000 cases of influenza compared with around 214,000 for the same period of time in 2019. Deaths for that same period are also down, from 486 in 2019 to 36 in 2020. These are huge reductions. "

I don't have a link to the news story I heard, but this links to an article with similar results.
