Wow. Grew up in Central IL and a big cub fan as a kid. But that guy was a ball player. I’ll give him that.
Imagine JV001 will have something to say here at some point. Know he’s a Card fan and would have seen Lou steal a few bases.
Multiple sources are reporting the death today of baseball great Lou Brock.

Wow. Just finished re-reading 1964 . That was the year I started playing baseball for the little league Cardinals. Been a fan ever since. Met Lou at a couple of card/autograph shows. Always gracious and kind.
Sad news. Lou Brock was one of my childhood favorites.

Anybody checked on Reggie Jackson to make sure he’s okay?
*sigh* Damn 2020.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
So sad to hear about Lou Brock. I hate to be losing all these guys.
Speaking of Bench, he did an inning or two of commentary in a game earlier this week. He appeared to be sitting on his couch at home. It was enjoyable, and I'd like to hear him do this more. He knows some baseball.
Once Bench signed off, the two regular commentators talked about something I hadn't heard before. For quite a few years at the Friday night dinner before the Hall of Fame induction, Bench has hosted and MC'd the dinner. It's apparently something he does very well.
Sad news for Cardinal fans. Lou was not only a great player, he was an ambassador for the game. No other Cardinal has excited fans with base stealing like Lou. When the Cardinals obtained Brock from the Cubs for Ernie Broglio it looked like a bad trade for the Cardinals. Ernie had been a 20 game winner and Lou was a .250-.260 hitter for the Cubs. Right away, Lou proved who got the best end of that trade. He would become be the NL leader in career steals and he was a .391 hitter in post season play. I guess next to Stan Musial he is my favorite Cardinal player.
Prayers for the family.
RIP #20.
Oh my, a giant of the game.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'
