Felt in Wake County. Disturbing.
Felt here in Asheville. Apparently centered in Sparta 100 miles away, felt in Charlotte, Charleston, etc. Very odd.
Felt in Wake County. Disturbing.
A bit of trembling felt for <30 seconds in this part of Onslow County. Mrs. dd thought it was the washing machine vibrating too much downstairs during its spin cycle. Very strange.

Yeah, that was wild. Felt like a large truck zooming by my living room.
Not felt in the Sandhills, but definitely in W-S (says a friend).
Soooooooo 2020.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
Felt it here in Durham, I had been awake for about 30 seconds. Pretty weird...my first earthquake (I was here for one several years ago but I was driving and missed it). Apparently Sparta had a smaller one yesterday, which makes it even weirder.
The epicenter is about 3 miles from our fieldstone farmhouse! I was just there last week.

Per Duke Men’s Basketball twitter:
Earthquake or aftershock from the double buzzer-beaters in Chapel Hill
I accept this answer 🤣
There were several smaller tremors around Sparta before the 5.1 magnitude one at a little after 8:00 AM.
One news outlet mentioned that 5.1 was the biggest in the area since 1916.
Linky to USGS
And yes, I felt it in Greenville, SC. The cat came into the room with a "What's going on?" look to confirm it a few seconds after I felt it.
4% chance of a bigger quake aftershock than the 5.1 for the next 7 days. And it's likely there will be smaller quakes over the next week with magnitude 3 or higher aftershocks. Biggest quake in NC since 1916.

Any report of bodies of fresh and/or salt water turning red?

Locusts were available this summer, the kind with red-eyes:

We felt it here in Colfax, just West of Greensboro. I thought it was an earthquake, but had to come to DBR to confirm.
