Possibly having buyer’s remorse on my buyer’s remorse from yesterday. Dropped Schauffele, Hovland, and Day for DJ and Finau. Still, DJ (-1), Morikawa (-1), Woods (-2), Finau (-3), and Koepka (-4) all in the hunt, with Cantlay (+3) struggling.
Leaders are Day and Cauley at -5. Looks like anything at 3-under or better is a pretty good score for the day.
Early results:
John Rahm - not teed off yet
Brooks Koepka - 4 under thru 17
Colin Morikawa - 1 under thru 17
Tyrrell Hatton - 1 over thru 17
Daniel Berger - 3 under thru 18
Abraham Ancer - 3 under thru 14
I've got 3 guys really in the running with my big gun yet to tee off. Feeling good so far!
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Finau is pretty much aleays a pretty good pick, even though he has failed to come through in the crunch. He still finishes in the good money pretty often.
This team is looking strong after day 1 with the co-leader and 3 guys in second! Tremendous value from Todd and Scheffler. (not going to ding you for the "Shelden Williams" style typo on Brendon Todd)
Projections after day 1:
Tbyers11 $4,246,365 Mr. Synellinden $3,012,615 elvis14 $2,986,365 accfanfrom1970 $1,659,915 duketaylor $1,094,665 killerleft $1,075,415 mkirsh $1,068,415 Cdu $1,054,565 Tripping William $996,665 JasonEvans $989,815 rasputin $987,115 cato $977,415 Rich $938,915 Bob Green $865,600 sagegrouse $853,200 Rogue $275,700
Interestingly CDu's original team would be comfortably in second place. But you can't win the tournament on Thursday - there is plenty of golf left.
Yep. Hoping that my itch doesn't wind up biting me. So far, not so good. At least Hovland had a poor day today and has dropped back, but Day/Hovland/Schauffele certainly positioned better combined than DJ/Finau. We'll see how Day/Schauffele/DJ/Finau do today. Fingers crossed, but I certainly can't rule out that I'm a big dummy.
Brendon Todd (got the spelling correct here. Thanks for the heads up. I detest people who type Shelden and Reddick) had been playing really well and seemed like a solid pick at 2 points. I had literally never heard of Scheffler but he was picked as a sleeper in an article I read and seemed like a 2 pointer that no one else was picking. So I could get a boost if he did well. Hope they stay in contention thru in the weekend.

Standings heading into the weekend are below. Fairly tight leader board so shaping up to be an exciting next two days.
Mr. Synellinden $3,906,900 elvis14 $2,924,800 accfanfrom1970 $2,785,390 Rich $2,763,590 Turk $2,682,700 JasonEvans $2,605,000 mkirsh $2,526,600 Tbyers11 $2,168,590 Cdu $1,760,890 Bob Green $1,643,790 killerleft $1,634,300 rasputin $1,584,300 duketaylor $1,555,700 cato $1,509,300 sagegrouse $1,403,200 Tripping William $1,349,600 Rogue $516,590
All six members of Team CDu v2.0 made the cut. But Team CDu v1.0 (which would have Schauffele, Hovland, and Day in place of DJ and Finau) would have had 7 making the cut and two (instead of just one) at -6. Still a lot of golf to be played, but it is certainly looking like I made the wrong call. Oh well.
Well, DJ and Finau stepped it up today to make me feel a bit better about my change of heart.
DJ (T1)
Koepka (T4)
Morikawa (T4)
Finau (T7)
Cantlay (T21)
Woods (T59)
Hopefully Sunday breaks well too!
I have no reason to make this up - Earlier today I was typing a response to your first post that said - "Don't sleep on DJ - I just have a feeling ..."
And I got distracted and never posted it. But I was thinking it. I just had a feeling he was going to have a huge day. One of the things that is becoming clear is that distance is a huge factor on this course. And it makes sense - the rough is so penal and it is much easier to hit short irons out of the rough and get the ball on the green. DJ, Champ, Koepka, DeChambeau, Finau, Wolff, Scheffler - all big hitters - are in the hunt with a real chance to win.

DJ moves CDu to the top of the leaderboard
Cdu $3,526,550 Bob Green $3,077,500 Rogue $2,508,550 Tbyers11 $2,424,450 elvis14 $1,893,300 Mr. Synellinden $1,860,950 JasonEvans $1,549,650 accfanfrom1970 $1,474,700 Turk $1,465,300 duketaylor $1,362,200 mkirsh $1,296,200 cato $1,274,300 killerleft $1,217,650 rasputin $1,171,650 Rich $1,152,100 Tripping William $804,900 sagegrouse $775,800
There is a lot of firepower at the top of the leaderboard with 4 major champions within 3 shots of the lead
CDu, Rogue, and Bob Green all have DJ
Tbyers11 has Scehffler
Jason Evans, Bob Green, CDu and elvis14 have Morikowa (how impressive is he in only his second year on tour?)
Everyone but Rich and Rogue have Koepka
Mr. Synellinden, accfanfrom1970, cato, duketaylor, Rogue, evlis14, and I have Bryson
Rasputin, killerleft, cato, duketaylor, Tbyers11, Turk, and CDu have Finau
Mr. Synellinden and Turk have Jason Day
Mr. Synellinden, Rich, Jason Evans, accfanfrom1970, elvis14, and I have Daniel Berger
Rich has Tommy Fleetwood
No one has Champ, Casey, or Rose
Six-way tie for the lead right now. Crazy!
I may finish DFL, but I don’t care. This is nuts!
