Prayers for the Clark family.
Looking at his career he was a leading rusher and passer for Duke in the 40"s. Pretty impressive numbers. I wonder if he was a half back that passed or a QB that passed and ran the ball?

Just found the answer to my question. Mr. Clark played tailback in the single wing offense Duke used back then. In the single wing formation, the tailback was the team's best passer. In a 1946 Sugar Bowl game against Alabama Clark scored two TDs that won the game for Duke. He also set the single game rushing record for Duke with 214 yard against Wake Forest two weeks after he broke two bones in his back. That record was broken by Randy Cuthbert 234 yards and now held by Shaun Wilson with 245 yards.
R.I.P. Wonderful, brief writeup for an outstanding Duke alum.
