I realize it’s 2020, and far easier to be glass half empty.
I can’t pretend to be a massive DWBB fan.
Wish I could say I was surprised that instead of celebrating what is a bold move and could mean a great future for the program, the thread has shifted to the post Lawson to Tennessee era before the Lawson Duke era has even begun.
If you can’t live in the moment, and be present, not sure how you can expect to experience joy.
Maybe someone has a good pun to Volunteer?

Steve Wiseman at the Durham Morning Herald and N&O just tweeted this:
Negotiations between @karalawson20 and @DukeATHLETICS progressing. She's also working hard at her current job, coaching with @celtics, so both sides are working around practices. Everything points toward a deal happening.
I say Durham Morning Herald. Is that even being published any more?
I’m a happy camper.
https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/cel...head-coach-jobKara Lawson indeed won't return for a second season with the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics assistant coach has accepted the Duke women's basketball head coaching job, NBC Sports Boston's A. Sherrod Blakely has confirmed.

Will she be Coach Lawson, or Coach Kara?
Either way, at least we can spell her name.

Fantastic news. Welcome Coach Lawson!
So now that the HC slot is filled, it will be interesting to see who she surrounds herself with. As I've stated she has no coaching experience in the collegiate world, but Jim Sumner mentioned that she would likely surround herself with people who have plenty. I'd assume that he is right in that prognostication.
I do hope that at least one or two coaches remain. Both Wanisha Smith and Keturah Jackson know Duke as well as anyone, and Smith has the experience of being one of our Final Four players. (She lost only 15 games in her years at Duke...I so hope that Lawson can get us back to those days!)
Many board members have spoken highly of Jim Corrigan as well. Obviously Lawson is going to want to bring in her own people, but I'm crossing fingers that someone on our current bench sticks around. (And, since Joy Smith didn't get looked at for the HC job, maybe she can steal her from Clemson as an assistant. )
